The Borough of Northvale displays military banners honoring veterans of Northvale from May through Veterans Day. Banners are displayed on light poles on Livingston St. and Paris Ave.
 

Banner
 

• 18”X36”, full-color, double-sided. Displays veteran’s picture, name, branch of service, military conflict in which was served.
   

Eligibility
 

• Veteran served in the U.S. Armed Forces – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard

• Veteran is/was a Northvale resident for at least 5 years.
   

Program Fees
 

• Exact banner cost is determined at the time of the quote as we make all efforts to obtain bulk discounting. The estimated cost is between $110 and $140.
   

Banner Upkeep/Notes
 

• Banners are stored by the Borough from November to May

• When banners are faded and deteriorated due to outdoor exposure, the Borough will inform the sponsor when a replacement is necessary to be ordered by the sponsor. Life expectancy of the banner is approximately 5-8 years.

• Banners are the property of the sponsor and will be requested to be returned upon request.

• Specific light pole locations may be requested for display of a banner however that position cannot be guaranteed

• If all of the light pole locations are reserved with banners, the Borough will utilize alternate areas for display such as Hogan Park
   

Process
 

• Application completed and returned to the Municipal Clerk with a check made out to “Borough of Northvale” and a picture of the veteran, preferably in uniform. If no picture is available then the symbol of the veteran’s branch of service will be displayed.

• Applications must be received by April 1st for display in the current calendar year. Applications received after April 1st cannot be guaranteed for display in the current calendar year, however all efforts will be made to accommodate.
